Excerpts from the BookThe Gifts When spiritual practices create a pathway through the brain to the soul, one gains the gifts of the soul such as subtle energy, insights, inspirations and intuition in both spiritual and mundane matters. Just as subtle can rule over gross, as water can erode rock, so the soul level experience when awakened, can dictate matters of itself and the grosser world. Not only does the individual get what they need and want sooner (the Kingdom) but one receives the freedom to understand ones soul purpose and to fulfill its destiny. While the mind finds its goals of peace and happiness, the soul, free of a once-entangled mind, gets its gifts of self-fulfillment and God realization. All smaller gifts of psychic and yogic powers become inconsequential next to the great heights of joy and spiritual fulfillment that spiritual practices bring. One literally turns into a spiritual powerhouse benefiting individuals and oneself to create a better world. It is the Saint - whose Soul is fully God-realized who can revive the souls of others. Reminding and showing us about our souls they give us magical practices to purify and focus the mind, so that the Soul is no longer brought down by the paltry dictates of the mind, but is energized and electrified into a whole new existence and arena of being of infinite love and peace - of light and ecstasy. Walking through life with a deadened spirit is a lonely and difficult proposition full of hardships and lessons. But with the Saint who is a true friend of the Soul, we get meaning and purpose to life. When we walk through this journey of life, we will never walk alone. Scope of Meditation (page 42)"There are many different kinds of meditation. These different techniques are nothing more than methods of overriding the pre-occupations of the body/mind complex to be able to experience a more subtle form of reality known as the Soul. The Soul is considered the subtlest of our bodies after the physical andmental, or astral body. The Soul is a reality separate from the mental rqalm. The Soul is attached to the mental body because of karma in the physical andmentalworlds. The Soul becomes a prsioner. When the soul becomes distracte by its body/mind vehcle, it forgets itself. In the same way, we forget ourselves when inebriated or caught up in an event or movie. These distractions of paih andpleasure, that is, the avoidance of suffering and the pursuit of enjoyment, keep us so distracted that we forget who we truly are."
